Gender equality, which encompasses the equal treatment of women and men, is a contemporary issue that concerns us all. Unfortunately, it does not receive adequate attention in the legal framework of the Czech Republic. The legal regulations governing equality and equal opportunities remain insufficient, and the Czech Republic lags behind other European countries in this regard. There is a notable lack of interest and concrete efforts to address gender inequality within Czech society. In theory, women, like men, are granted civil and political rights under the law, including the right to equal pay for equal work. However, in practice, significant disparities persist, especially in the labor market and decision-making processes. One way to promote equality in society is through affirmative action. This thesis delves into the theoretical concepts related to gender equality, discrimination, and affirmative action. It also conducts an analysis of existing equality legislation and the state's gender policies. Additionally, the thesis examines key areas where women face disadvantages and discrimination. It takes into account the social factors contributing to persistent inequality, the influence of gender segregation and stereotypes, and the unequal position of women in public life. The concept of affirmative action in case law of the ECJ

Positive Action in Case Law of the ECJ The general purpose of my thesis is to analyse a relevant sources of European Union law particularly the case law of the European Court of Justice relating to the issue of positive action measures and to find out, what attitude to judicial review ECJ applies in its decision- making in this specific area. The thesis is composed of three main chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of positive action measures. First chapter is introductory and defines basic terminology used in the thesis. This chapter is subdivided into two different sections. Section one explains what the concept of positive action means including classification of its different types and provides justification of its application. Second section focuses on the relationship between positive action measures and the concepts of equality and non-discrimination. Second chapter examines the relevant provisions of EU law which deal with the positive action measures in different areas of application of EU law with special attention to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Sexuální obtěžování a jiné druhy dikriminace v pracovněprávních vztazích

Tato bakalářská práce je vypracována na téma Sexuální obtěžování a jiné druhy diskriminace v pracovněprávních vztazích. Práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části ? teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny nejdůležitější pojmy, které souvisí s diskriminací. Dále jsou uvedeny zákonné úpravy týkající se oblasti diskriminace. Je zde zmíněno mezinárodní právo, právo platné v Evropské unii a právní úpravy České republiky. Další části jsou věnovány problematice diskriminace se zaměřením na mobbing a sexuální obtěžování. V praktické části je srovnání právní úpravy v ČR a EU. Dále je uvedeno dotazníkové šetření, které bylo provedeno na vzorku studentů. Poslední část je věnována úřadům práce a inspektorátům práce a jejich využití. V závěru je shrnut problém diskriminace a sexuálního obtěžování v pracovněprávních vztazích.
